Between Two Gates



Kotagede advanced the civilization of one of the largest empire in Java, namely Mataram. Not surprisingly, the city still has a touch of classical Javanese building mutually lined around the center of the kingdom, namely Kraton Mataram. Few buildings surviving the current government made cultural heritage is what we know as "between two gates".
Between Two Gates itself lead to nine home berarsitektur classical Javanese lined in a complex and only has two doors out onto the street. It is said that these houses the residence of the royal courtier who are still brothers and sisters to one another. The government deliberately conserve these houses because of the architecture of a pristine and already scarce. Most homes in this complex pyramid-shaped, and also joglo, which is nothing but a most excellent Java architecture. Some houses have joglo in front of the main house which was often used for work.
